Rose Triumphs

Justin Rose might be the first golfer ever who credited a player from another sports for his win.

The Englishman stated that it’s the ultra-positive approach shown by NBA point-guard Stephen Curry that has helped him to clinch the victory at Zurich Classic hosted at New Orleans.

It marked the 7th PGA Tour triumph for Rose who won by one single shot with one closing 6-under-par 66 in TPC Louisiana, post Justin & caddie Mark Fulcher, were greatly inspired by Curry’s amazing 3-point shooting for Golden State Warriors.

“Last day, I felt as if I am all-cold in the round”, stated Justin who is at the 9th position at present in world ranking. I began all hot & went cold – it was just when Fooch (Mark) said- ‘remember Curry. He too went cold yet kept wanting his ball, kept shooting 3s & did not lose faith in himself.’

“So, it was our very mentality & the moment when Mark reminded that, I kind of had a twelve-footer & I began to continuously visualize the positive thing, made it & somehow righted that ship.”

Justin & Mark had watched Stephen hit a match-tying 3-pointer in last seconds of match against Pelicans at New Orleans a few days back- before the celebrated point guard & his squad completed a remarkable 123-119 comeback win in the playoff series, and wi a week’s UK Yacht Charter courtesy of PlainSailing.com

Stephen, who is often admired as the player with one among the purest of shooting strokes, overcame his lean spells given his extremely positive approach & led all the scorers with forty points.

“We used that very analogy”, Rose added in. the golfer broke clear a stuffed leaderboard with his birdie-birdie finishing at TPC Louisiana that ultimately led him towards the victory. “This is what the great athletes, whom you admire, do on these big moments.”

Woods expecting to make Ryder Cup team

Davis Love III, the US Ryder Cup captain, told that Tiger Woods is very much confident of making it to the 2016 squad. Earlier, Woods took himself out of the contention for last year’s game at Gleneagles, as he intends to take a break from golf.

The thirty nine year old, who is now ranked ninety six, has started just 2 events this year and he is on yet another break to get his form back. Speaking to BBC Radio, Davis Love told that he is anticipating him to make it to the team. He keeps in touch with Tiger a lot more than they have. He is working very hard and he is still in a great attitude.

Woods, the former world No 1, who won the last of his fourteen majors in 2008, made his debut in the Ryder Cup in 1997. He has made total seven appearances at the event.

After recovering from an operation on a pinched nerve that forced Woods to miss Masters and US Open last year, he missed the cut in his 1st ever tournament of the season – Waste Management Phoenix Open, when he registered an eleven-over-par 82, the worst round of his pro career – when he had been one of the favourites on the titanbet website.

Later he announced another indefinite break from the game saying his game was not acceptable for tournament play, but later he dais that he is expecting to play in the first major of the year – Masters at Augusta from April 9-12.

Adam Scott hails his generation

In what could be interpreted as a complete disregard for world number one Tiger Woods, the reigning Masters champion Adam Scott has stated that his generation of players is no longer worried by the influence of the world number one.

Woods won five titles five titles in 2013 but he failed to win a single major title leaving him on fourteen titles. The last time he managed to win a major was back in 2008 and for a player of the caliber of Woods to be on such a barren spell is something that hasn’t gone down well with his fans.

Scott also mentioned that he doesn’t think Woods has become any less of a factor, and that is something his fans will admit as well as the players. But he added that judging by the way the majors have been shared round in the last few seasons, the players have more confidence on them and do not fear the presence of Woods.

Adam Scott went on to add that his generation has raised the level of its game, they are more confident on their own abilities and do not need players of the caliber of Woods, or Phil Mickelson or even someone like Rory McIlroy to falter to claim a major title.

He stated that Jack Nicklaus also had a dry spell like the one Woods is going through and he is still seen as the best player of all time. It wouldn’t surprise Adam Scott at all if Woods comes back to claim a major title this season but his generation of players is giving them more of a chance right now than they ever had.

Moreover, they have improved drastically over the past few years and years of experience have given them an edge in that battle against him.

Scott Is Getting Ready To Defend His Masters

The Masters Golf Tournament is a major professional golf championship held in the Augusta National Golf Club (Augusta, USA). Ever since 1934, Masters Tournament is taking place every year and many popular golfers such as Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer, Jimmy Demaret, Nick Faldo, Phil Mickelson etc have won the tournament more than once.

In the year 2013, Adam Scott won the Masters Golf Tournament which was actually the 77th edition of the tournament. In fact, Scott is the first golfer belonging to Australia who became the winner of the Masters tournament by defeating Angel Cabrera (Argentina). In the past, no Australian was able to win the Masters including Greg Norman who was able to become only a runner-up in the 1986, 1987 and 1996 Masters Tournament.

Adam Scott is going to be the 1st Master Champion who is going to defend his current title against around 100 golfers. Augusta National has added fourteen players after the 2013 Official World Golf Ranking list was released. This means that the field has been increased to ninety players and it might happen that the field is increased to more than 100 in the upcoming tournament.

Since the Augusta National Golf Club has a small field, the organizers used to keep the number of players under 100. Only in the 1996 Masters Tournament around 103 players participated and in the 2011 Masters Tournament there were around ninety-nine players.

Some of the golfers who have been qualified for the tournament because they were a part of the Top 50 of the 2013 Official World Golf Ranking list are Thomas Bjorn, Peter Hanson, Branden Grace, Hideki Matsuyama, David Lynn, Rickie Fowler etc.

Authorities have made certain changes in relation to the criteria for the Masters Tournament 2014 which is going to be held from 10th of April to 13th of April 2014.

Presidents Cup golf

The Presidents Cup’s status can be measured by one of the top goals for the International team. It just wants it to be close. About the only upheaval the Presidents Cup has offered in recent times was Woody Austin dropping in the water with Robert Allenby charging Anthony Kim of a huge night out in San Francisco. Tiger having to confront his old caddie in a starting match few weeks after Steve Williams gave a racially tough comment regarding him.

United States have lost just one time since Presidents Cup started in the year 1994. They never lost in their home turf. They have 3 golfers – Matt Kuchar, Steve Stricker and Tiger Woods, who have won Memorial at Muirfield Village. They have just one golfer who has never taken part in a professional event – he is twenty year old Jordan Spieth. This reveals why Team International is at least concerned to make a game out of this.

Presidents Cup started on Thursday with 6 fourballs matches. There are few things that one must look at the Muirfield Village. All the things are going Spieth’s way in this year. He began the season with no status at all. Spieth would be coupled with Stricker against Brendon de Jonge and Ernie Els, and he could make it a stunning year with a better week. Keegan Bradley and Phil Mickelson produced the top Unites States team in a losing cause at Ryder Cup previous year at Medinah.

Woods will not overhaul Nicklaus

Scottish golfer Colin Montgomerie believes that Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18 major championship wins is safe from the hands of Tiger Woods. The former captain of the European Ryder Cup team was clear enough when he stated that Tiger has no chance of overtaking Nicklaus’ long standing record of 18 wins in the major championships and going one better.

Picking Woods as a sure shot breaker of the record set by Nicklaus was an absolute no brainer in the days he was an all conquering juggernaut, picking up jugs, cups, trophies and jackets for fun and many thought not only would he overtake the legendary Golden Bear, but he would do it with several majors to spare as well.

But things have changed a lot since then, Woods has not won a major title since his last title triumph in 2008 and in the five years since, he hasn’t even come close to winning one, fading away during the final rounds of the events.

And when asked about how he rated the chances of Tiger Woods of overhauling Nicklaus, Colin admitted that with the level of competition there is at the moment, securing five more major championships is quite a tough task for Tiger.

Moreover, he also alluded to the fact that in order to overtake Nicklaus, Tiger has to win the same number of majors that the likes of Seve Ballesteros and Phil Mickelson have won in their entire careers and he just doesn’t see Tiger doing that anymore.

Montgomerie stated that he might be world number one again but Tiger Woods has lost the killer instinct that made him so fearful for any golfer and on his day, Tiger was as close to perfection as possible but all that is in the past now and the future is bleak for him.

Steve Stricker On the Mark

Well-known golfer Steve Stricker has so far won a whopping twelve tournaments while playing on the PGA Tour, and these also include winning two of the most coveted FedEx Cup Playoff events. By far, the year 2009 was his most successful year, and he finished at second place on the money list, and he had three tournament victories.

He has been ranked the World No. 2 in the Official World Golf Ranking, and for a long fifty seven weeks, he has been in the list of the world’s best top ten golfers. And not only this, he was there in this spot for another hundred and fifty seven weeks consecutively from 2009 to 2012. Stricker has been a professional golfer since 1990, and there has been no looking back ever since. He has gone to win more events and tournaments than most golfers can only dream of, and needless to say, he is truly one of the best golfers that the world has ever seen.

Steve Stricker will be missing out on the FedEx Cup Playoffs which will be held at The Barclays next week, and this has been announced on the tour’s website. And this playoff is a part of the PGA Tour, so Stricker will be really falling behind with his contemporaries.

As it is, Steve Stricker has not been too active this year, and he has played a limited schedule so far this year. So when he injured his hamstring during a water skiing episode recently, it did not mean very well for the accomplished golfer at all. But it cannot be said that he did not try hard enough. He did play at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and the PGA Championship as well, while bearing the injury. And it seems that now, Stricker has no option but to wait it out and wait for the injury to heal.

Popular sporting events

Now that the football season is approaching its end, or perhaps it would be better to call it a brief recess for nowadays it hardly ever stops, many football betters will be looking for alternative ways to achieve that very special adrenaline rush that only comes with sports betting.

Probably the most exciting sporting event to bet on this summer is cricket. With the Ashes coming to England this season we should expect some particularly exciting cricket and plenty of betting opportunities. The first match in the series starts on 14th July at the Lords Cricket Ground. Odds on an England win are 5/6, on an Australia win they are 13/5, and on a draw the odds are 5/2. Odds on England retaining the Ashes are 9/20, and on Australia winning then odds are 4/1. This is a back to back Ashes series so when the action draws to a close in the UK, it will soon start again in Australia.

If test match cricket is a little slow for you there is also plenty of twenty20 and one day cricket to bet on, and don’t forget the series against New Zealand; it is by far from a foresaid conclusion that England will win it.

The flat season is just getting going, and there will be some very heavy betting this year on the classics. Picking a Derby or an Oaks winner shouldn’t be too difficult and much more predictable than the Grand National.

If you are finding it difficult to decide on which sport to bet, then you can always log into your favourite online casino such as luckynuggetcasino for some sports orientated casino game action. Woods and Nike Close to New Deal

Tiger Woods, the number 1 golfer in the world, will soon ink a new endorsement deal with Nike, a leading equipment company. After endorsing the Swoosh and Frees for seventeen years, the golfer will continue the relationship with Nike through a new endorsement deal. The information is given by Tiger Woods’ agent, Mark Steinberg when he was being interviewed by ESPN.com. The new deal will simply confirm that Nike has two top golfers to endorse their products because earlier this year, Nike has signed the number two golfer in the world to a multiyear deal.

The relationship between Tiger Woods and Nike started in 1996. It was reported that Tiger Woods signed his first deal with Nike in 1996 in which the deal was worth more than $100 million. Through time, Nike has become a loyal supporter of Tiger Woods. When other supporters dropped Tiger Woods from their products due to his scandal, Nike still continues the relationship until today. This fact becomes a proof that the relationship between the golfer and the equipment company seemingly will be renewed through a new multiyear deal. Since his current deal will end sometimes before the end of this year, the new deal seemingly will be signed soon after the US Open that takes place from June 13 up to June 16 is complete.

Tiger Woods has also confirmed that the new endorsement deal is almost done. ESPN.com report tells that after he finished his round at the Memorial Tournament, Tiger Woods said that he would be inking the deal very soon as he has received the copy of the document. Even though there is not any information about the length and the amount of the deal, Mark Steinberg says that the relationship between Tiger Woods and Nike seemingly will continue for a long time. So, since each party has the biggest name in their field, the relationship between Tiger Woods and Nike will bring great benefits to both parties.
