Steve Stricker On the Mark

Well-known golfer Steve Stricker has so far won a whopping twelve tournaments while playing on the PGA Tour, and these also include winning two of the most coveted FedEx Cup Playoff events. By far, the year 2009 was his most successful year, and he finished at second place on the money list, and he had three tournament victories.

He has been ranked the World No. 2 in the Official World Golf Ranking, and for a long fifty seven weeks, he has been in the list of the world’s best top ten golfers. And not only this, he was there in this spot for another hundred and fifty seven weeks consecutively from 2009 to 2012. Stricker has been a professional golfer since 1990, and there has been no looking back ever since. He has gone to win more events and tournaments than most golfers can only dream of, and needless to say, he is truly one of the best golfers that the world has ever seen.

Steve Stricker will be missing out on the FedEx Cup Playoffs which will be held at The Barclays next week, and this has been announced on the tour’s website. And this playoff is a part of the PGA Tour, so Stricker will be really falling behind with his contemporaries.

As it is, Steve Stricker has not been too active this year, and he has played a limited schedule so far this year. So when he injured his hamstring during a water skiing episode recently, it did not mean very well for the accomplished golfer at all. But it cannot be said that he did not try hard enough. He did play at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and the PGA Championship as well, while bearing the injury. And it seems that now, Stricker has no option but to wait it out and wait for the injury to heal.
